Lawrence Shelter, Don Juan, Lotkow Road and return. Kaweka FP, Saturday, April 11 2015
Map: BJ37
A fairly uneventful day, other than a bit of slip and sliding around. The day was overcast but otherwise perfect. We walked up to Don Juan trig and returned back to the car park on the same track. Stopped off at the Lawrence Shelter and used the fine toilet facilities.
There were lots of fungi along the track and we saw and heard plenty of bird life, including robins and fantails.
On the walk was just myself, Lynn and Ted and we happily plodded along at a slow and steady pace, stopping to take a few photos, drink and snack.
We didn’t see any other walkers, just some hunters on returning to the car park. We had heard plenty of deer calling.
