Diary

The list below is for the period January to June 2018.

We also have Eezee tramps for anyone interested in joining the club, and wanting to get to know us beforehand. See our list of “Eezee” tramps.

If you wish to find out what tramping is all about, we are happy to take you out on non-club trips, so that you can assess your own fitness, and whether you like tramping or not. A senior club member will take you for a short trip.

The normal transport cost is $20 including GST, unless we’re travelling further afield.

The Grade is measured assuming a reasonably fit person with some tramping experience.
Easy: 4-6 hours with undemanding terrain
Med: 4-6 hours that may include some steep walking
Hard: This could involve tramping for more than 7 hours in tough country
Easy/Med: Options for both easy and medium tramps

About us

About us

We are a group of like-minded people who love the great outdoors. We tramp mostly in the Hawke’s Bay province, in remote areas such as the Kaweka and Ruahine Ranges; but we also travel longer distances to new places, for longer walks.

The Napier Tramping Club was established in 1974 and has about 70 members. We belong to the Federated Mountain Clubs of NZ Inc (FMC) and run Saturday, full-weekend and Wednesday tramps, every fortnight.

Interested in joining us?

Enjoy the great outdoors, keep fit and get to know others with similar interests.
