Wilding pine update

Graham Leech reports:

Our next day is Tuesday 1 October.  We will head to The Lakes this time. Usual arrangements – meet at Omahu/Fernhill just as the Napier Taihape Rd starts by the cemetery at 8am to carpool up to Kuripapango – bring lunch and clothes for bush-bashing.  We will supply tools, first aid, plb etc.  We aim to be back about 3pm; latest 4pm.  Weather forecast is currently so good we could almost plan a swim at lunch!

Our volunteer day on 4 September was a success. See the tramp report

We have another mission scheduled for Wednesday 6 November.

Ruahine Whio Protection Trust 2025 Calendar

Ruahine Whio Protection Trust has produced another lovely Wild Ruahine calendar for 2025.  If you would like to continue to support the trust’s work, you can purchase a copy direct from jwilson@inspire.net.nz.

The cost remains at $20 + 4.90  P&P; or you can contact Julia Mackie to place an order and the club will make a bulk advance purchase – saving you some money.

About us

We are a group of like-minded people who love the great outdoors. We tramp mostly in the Hawke’s Bay province, in remote areas such as the Kaweka and Ruahine Ranges; but we also travel longer distances to new places, for longer walks.

The Napier Tramping Club was established in 1974 and has about 70 members. We belong to the Federated Mountain Clubs of NZ Inc (FMC) and run Saturday, full-weekend and Wednesday tramps, every fortnight.

Interested in joining us?

Enjoy the great outdoors, keep fit and get to know others with similar interests.
