Cape Kidnappers, Wednesday 2 December 2020
There was a big turnout for our final Wednesday walk of the year. It was local, so just a quick drive to the Hygee Café (formerly the Clifton Café). Tide times checked, we started at 11am, and were advised to return no later than 2pm.
The day was sunny with no wind, so we all walked at our own pace.
The shelter (and toilets) at the end, before you climb up to the gannet colony, provided the seating for our lunch spot.
After lunch, some of us walked up to the gannet colony. The nesting season made it extra interesting, seeing the fluffy chicks being coddled and fed by parents.
The walk back was just in time, as the tide was hitting the rocks at the campground.
A great day trip, with superb vistas from the gannet colony.
