Map: BJ37 Banner photo: Just off the track is a private ‘Mohaka Hilton’ We had two vanloads, 24 trampers and perfect weather for hiking to the Te Puia Lodge, a well-advertised and popular walk in the Kaweka Ranges. Are we all early-morning nutcases?

June 6, 2015 by Murray White Leave a Comment

Te Puia Hot Springs, Kaweka Forest Park, Saturday June 6 2015. Map BJ37 It seems insane to get out of a nice warm bed at 7am in winter to head for the wilderness, but that’s what we did. There were so many lunatics up early that morning, we needed the van and a car (which… [Read More]

Hot springs for a lunch destination via Makino Ridge

November 19, 2011 by Marc Marchal 1 Comment

About us

We are a group of like-minded people who love the great outdoors. We tramp mostly in the Hawke’s Bay province, in remote areas such as the Kaweka and Ruahine Ranges; but we also travel longer distances to new places, for longer walks.

The Napier Tramping Club was established in 1974 and has about 70 members. We belong to the Federated Mountain Clubs of NZ Inc (FMC) and run Saturday, full-weekend and Wednesday tramps, every fortnight.

Interested in joining us?

Enjoy the great outdoors, keep fit and get to know others with similar interests.
