The November tramp went very well, the picture below is taken at Dianne’s Hut. See the full trip report soon to be posted on the website.
Respecting private farmland
We would like to remind all club members that where a tramp passes through private farmland, permission must be sought prior to the tramp. This is a basic courtesy, and club policy.
Ruahine Forest Park Hut and Tracks – DOC Review
The club’s views on the possible removal of huts and tracks in the Ruahine Forest Park. The club’s view is that we would be disappointed if such action were necessary. We wish to ensure that consultation not only with the local tramping and deerstalking groups occurs. A working group has been mooted as a way forward to get the mix of views of tramping and deerstalking clubs i.e. those that have been attending the two meetings that DOC have held to-date on the review. This is a positive step, and NTC will be playing its part by submitting opinion and options to the working group on how we all manage the future of the huts and tracks in the RFP.

Are you displaying the iTramp bumper sticker? The motif doesn’t replace the logo created in 1974, but is intended to promote the club. Stickers are available from Julia Mackie, and business cards from John Dobbs. Let’s show ourselves off to the world!
